The LIN Guard is a data switching device with two main functions:

• Protects the function of perimeter lighting networks against ground faults
• Offloads power distribution and fusing for perimeter lighting from the vehicle's main aftermarket fuse panel

The surface-mount device offers five channels each consisting of a data wire, independently fused power, and ground.

If any data line has a ground fault, that line and only that line will be disconnected from the rest of the bus, preventing total data bus failure.

Note: If you are using FasTech, use this item. If you are not using FasTech, you should use instead LIN-GUARD-KIT which includes connector pigtails to integrate with your harnessing.
